Closer

The drawings in the installation “Closer” feature dead people found in their home. They are drawn with extreme detail and precision, as a loving laying out on paper. The white of the paper plays an important role in the drawings and could be seen as a reference
to disappearing, and it also places the focus on the things that are drawn, as the drawing is a search for the essence of what an individual is. I have emphasized what I feel is noteworthy: their interaction with the interior of their house. In death these people
are like part of their furniture, the way in which they “pose” in their interior is often unusual, different from how they do in life, and in that sense points at the limited amount of time we have.
In the installation the drawings are shown on found wooden panels and pieces of furniture like archeological finds of a house.
