A cell that only communicates with itself, lonely, in a laboratory. It grows on a precious sapphire, but all the jewels and glitter in the world couldn't make it happy, because it regurgitates its own molecules, has heard its own stories a million times.

When we see the world, we see it again and again.

When we see the world, we see it again and again. Our brain cells release neurotransmitters not all at once, but rationed. This because of one little molecule that stops the floodgates from opening. I've been trying to think of the mechanisms that make up our mind, without thinking 'meaningless bag of chemicals'. There is beauty in knowledge and the striving for more knowledge.

This is a detail of a painting I made inspired by the research my friend Marieke does on brain cells. She told me over dinner that they use a tweezer made of light (!) to pick up molecules. This jumpstarted a surge of inspiration that hasn't subsided yet.

Who is painting what, and why? Just reading the book "The courage to be disliked" about Adlerian psychology. Quote: "all problems are interpersonal problems". Are all paintings interpersonal paintings? Thanks to social media they probably are.
All watches are interpersonal watches, because time would certainly not matter if there were no other people.......however, a timer would still be useful, to boil an egg to perfection.
