Big Problems Small Paintings 2018

This series of 60 oil paintings, each one about 10 x 14 cm, started as a way to give all that worries me a place. A small painting to figure out my fears. FIRE: Forest fires caused by draught due to climate change. WATER: plastic pollution of the oceans. BLOOD: the immense suffering and environmental disaster that is the meat industry. GODS: the human behavior that causes all these disasters. An lastly HEAVEN: in which I zoom out even more, to the scale of the stars and galaxies, in which earth is an insignificant blue dot.

This series questions how to live a good life on an individual level, with the knowledge of a global, or even universal level. The series was exhibited in various locations and reached its conclusion with an exhibition at This Art Fair, December 2018. here a link to an overview of (nearly) all small paintings
